Message From Seneca's PTSA President
Welcome to another year at Seneca High School! It is truly a wonderful school with a great staff and facility. I want to take this opportunity to tell you how much I am looking forward to a great year as president of Seneca High School's Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA). On behalf of the PTSA, I want to wish you all a very successful year at Seneca. The PTSA offers you many opportunities to be involved with your child's high school experience. Our goal this year is to have all families and students join Seneca's PTSA for a minimal cost of $5 per person.
There are many volunteer opportunities at Seneca to choose from:
- Helping teachers
- Helping with testing
- Teacher Appreciation Week
- School-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council
- Selling T-shirts
- Kentucky Kids' Day (September)
- Front office help
- Filing scholarships
- PTSA Prom Style Show
- Various committees
- PTSA Talent Show
- PTSA officers
- Judging Reflections
If you have limited time, perhaps you could help us for a single event by:
- Sending in food for scheduled events.
- Helping with Teacher Appreciation Week in May.
Other Information
If you are already stretched to your limit like many of us are, you could help us by purchasing one of the rechargeable Kroger Gift Cards. When you use these cards, a percentage of your total purchases is donated to the Seneca PTSA. These cards may be purchased from any PTSA board member.
As you can see, there are many ways for you to become involved! Seneca PTSA's biggest activity is our $500 scholarships that we award at the end of each year to Seneca seniors heading off to college. Last year, we awarded $5,000 in scholarships. The parent and student must be Seneca PTSA members in order for the student to apply.
Our PTSA Board of Managers meets one evening a month to plan and coordinate events for the school. We have several openings on the PTSA board this year—please consider volunteering for one of these! We have always had a very successful PTSA, and with your help, we can continue with that success.
